dev.eth liquidation sale
It would appear that the market is back in action, as evidenced by the huge success of new projects on both the primary and secondary. Nothing signified the reinvigorated market for old projects quite like the auction-like sales of nearly the entirety of dev.eth's collection.
The rush culminated the in the accepted offers for FOUR Garden, Monoliths from friend of the podcast lemonde2d.
Much of the work went at very nice prices. Check out the history on some of these pieces and don't be afraid of putting out offers in the future; you never know what might be accepted!
Bright Moments - Venice Beach
fxhash is at its first official event in the US this weekend with Bright Moments. In addition to a gallery that has been curated by Tender, there is an exclusive live minting + plotting (!) experience for an amazing work by Piter Pasma.

Which project of Piter's is your favorite on fxhash? We both think that Industrial Devolution takes the crown, followed by Hypergiraffe.

Trinity thinks Monotau's Omega Point feels thematically similar to Industrial Devolution; each piece of both projects could be seen as a single snapshot of a larger place / organism. Will agrees, with the additional insight that this could be applied to PLANET ERROR as well.
02. Projects of the Week
Rituals - Venice
Trinity cheated this week and picked an Art Blocks project from last year as one of her favorites this week.

Lineage
Lineage matches the coding skills of twistie with the drawing style of Tim Maxwell. Much of the latter's work can be found on Objkt.
Tim's work non-fxhash work can be found on Objkt.
Twistie was prolific during beta, with Sunder: Hills being their most recent work on the platform.
If your piece is both interesting and not annoying, you might have a chance to get a hand drawn edition!
Although most variations of Lineage are fully penciled, there are some that embrace white space. Some may love it, some may not, it's up to you to decide.
#37 and #38 are both good exhibits of Lineage folding into horizontal space, rather than the squared of 'hallway' approach that is common in the project.
Both Will and Trinity are fond of #51 with its stand-out darkness and use of both horizontal and vertical intersections that lend to a moire pattern
Trinity calls out Tim's code + drawing work on Versum as both interesting and affordable. Degenerative Visionary (or) Saturation Of Practically All Reason is so cool!
Ordinary Places
Willard is back at it with mid-century update to the mood and atmosphere of Southern Gothic.
WILLARD references two works of inspiration for Ordinary Places. You can read more about Twentysix Gasoline Stations by Edward Ruscha and Water Tower by Bernd & Hilla Becher here and here.
#48 displays some of the inherent risks with this style of art with layered elements; the barn, water tower, and gas station are all stacked on top of each other.
Will appreciates the simplicity inherent in #57 and #58, with simple horizons and cemeteries providing interest to the simple gas station motif.
'Section Cut' is a rare trait that gives a more detailed view of the water tower.
The skeleton in the ground isn't a feature at all, but a fun little easter egg.
Ordinary Places reminds Trinity of driving through rural Pennsylvania, with the tall gas station signs looming over the turnpike.
Elo
Elo is yet another stand-out project that represents a huge shift from the popular trees that gpitombo has released in the past. Between the variety of style there is something for everybody.
(ps - the floor on Morning Mist is pretty low if you were looking to pick it up)

As a member of the clewcrew, Trinity has an obligation to point out (in a good way!) the cool vibes between Elo and #symmetriclew. Robin's Osminum evokes similar feelings, as well.
Crash Euphoria
The latest release from Chris McCully is an absolute fun one! Will minted #224 and totally gets Giant Steps vibes from the lines, shapes, and colors.
Trinity's take of Crash Euphoria is that of a psychedelic circus. The woven ones are fun, too.
Chris is also starting to livestream his coding sessions. Like & subscribe on Twitch to engage in the fun!

04. Looking Ahead
A ton of work that either came out right after recording (i.e., we will almost definitely talk about this next week), or more in a future TBD state. Either way, it's allllllll looking good.
Yazid released Ir/rational Beauty. Spoiler alert: Trinity got the one she wanted and Will found a great one on the secondary.

How can anyone not be looking forward to The Fire Within? Yi-Wen LIN won our hearts in early beta with Threads and Circles, and the progression to this work is absolutely insane.
Robert Hodgin has teamed up with Tender for another very cool collaboration, Holons. Expect a release date the week of 10 Oct.
Last (and never least), fan favorite M.J. Lindow has confirmed via tweet that we should be expecting something new on fxhash soon!
