- Emergent Properties interview
Our interview with Emergent Properties founders Ira and Emil dropped just in time this week to celebrate the release of the platforms second project, Ghost in the Machine by Emil. Long-form generative AI isn't going away anytime soon, so definitely take a listen to learn more about them, their art, and how it's created.
- Metaversal is back and bought a GM
For those who weren't around in beta, Metaversal was one of biggest collectors back in December and January -- just check out their collection! The fund has be largely dormant since, but woke from their slumber in time to snag an absolutely lovely Garden, Monoliths that had been listed 25% below floor.
It appears that they have a new analyst on the team who is focused on generative art and Tezos-aware, so we'll be keeping an eye on any other future buys across the platform.
- Kevin Rose loses millions
Web3 enthusiasts everywhere were reminded this week about the importance of safe wallet practices with the news that Kevin Rose was drained of some pretty valuable NFTs, including an Autoglyph and multiple Squiggles.
Stay safe out there, folks, and always be mindful of the sites you're connecting to, even if you're using a Ledger.
- TENDER icons list revamped
Tender just celebrated its one-year anniversary! At the start, the Icons list was 150 of the best fxhash projects at the time, and it had expanded to over 400 as more work was released and with the integration of Ethereum work.
In the spirit of having a tighter list of Icons, Tender has revamped the method. Read their thread to learn more:
02. Market index updates
The market continues to move simultaneously up and down this week as we see the value of projects increasing in USD terms in spite of a dip in their tez price.
'Winners' of the week include two early beta projects, Hashed Cities and De/Frag, which is a tough signal to parse because even a single sale can dramatically move the floor. This is typically of many projects that are under 10% listed and is something to examine over time. Tesseract also saw a huge move up due to the release of Perpendicular Inhabitation.
The three biggest 'losers' of the week (what a terrible term) continue to be projects that are retracing from their ATH sales over the last month. We will track their longer term performance through the upcoming monthly and quarterly index updates.
03. Buys of the week
- Trinity's secondary pick-ups
Trinity continues to splurge a bit and has continued to live her fxhash beta fantasy by almost exclusively purchasing projects from late 2021 / early 2022.
On the heels of last week's episode (i.e., the release of mrkswcz's 7.356 degrees), she held true to her promise and purchased four unbuilts, including one for her best friend Will.
Lisa Orth's A Stitch Is Fine had also been long elusive, with this 100-edition project being perpetually 4% listed and having less than desirable outputs on the floor. A collector put two editions of this project on the floor over the past week which Trinity happily scooped up.
Rounding out the week were two single project purchases. Concrete #353 is in the rare Nesjar style, and the Maplands was 30% below the floor - this may be the last chance to accumulate below 100 tez.
- Will's secondary pick-up
This may be the first De/Frag in toxi's series from beta, but it isn't Will's first De/Frag, if you know what we mean. This early fxhash staple has maintained a steady price for many months before starting to slowly increase in 2023. Will nabbed up this lovely piece - it's only 5% listed.
04. Projects of the week
- Perpendicular Inhabitation
Studio Yorktown continues to showcase his excellent design aesthetic with each project, and Perpendicular Inhabitation is no exception. The variety of palettes with differing styles and applications, not to mention 'secret' features ensure that each piece has something new and special to explore.
Note that the trajectory of this project, well, changed in the days between recording this episode and releasing it. That said, we will continue to watch how this changes hands over time.

The fabulous duo of Leander Herzog and Richard Nadler follow up their mid-2022 release, Gerhard, with a continued exploration of the same themes, now with more textures and more science. Richter is an animated piece, and don't forget to tap on the screen to layer more colors and build the piece that you love.

- Schneewald
SCHNEEWALD is the second of twelve tree / flower themed drops Holger Lippmann, with one scheduled to come out each month. This project dipped below mint, but quickly recovered and exploded as news of Holger's upcoming Art Blocks drop spread. We like the blue.

It's no secret that we are big whitekross fans, and we both minted multiple of this beautiful abstract project that was a weirdly slow mint. With such a wide intensity of color and composition, we feel Unbound is ideal for printing and for curating diptychs and triptychs for your wall or virtual gallery.

- I AM UNFOLDING
The ever mysterious username released a mysterious new project this week. The shapes, animation, and use of shaders have the community speculating that this is (another) alt account for podcast favorite Landlines Art. What do you think?
- Borders Revisited
Energy Sketch aka Andrew Bell has been improving his p5.js skills and has released a code-based update to borders, which was an image-composition project. We think this was incredibly well executed and hope to see more in the future.
- m i s a l i g n
Fan favorite punevyr released his latest project in the late evening (NYC time), much to the chagrin of those in Europe. This project showcases a wide range of outputs, as expected, and we're glad to see the artist staying committed to 1,000+ editions.
06. Looking ahead
- Mark Ludgate
Mark's follow-up to The Spectrum of Nature was due to release this week but has been delayed while he works through a technical issue. We're looking forward to it coming out Soon (tm). In the meantime you can read through the fxtext write-up for Lost Memories.
- Erik Swahn
Erik has been lighting up Twitter with his latest WIP, which we hope (but haven't confirmed) is coming to fxhash. Given that he tends to release work relatively quickly after sharing, there is a chance that this comes sooner rather than later.
